Wind your mechanical clock at the same time each week, slowly and to the end of the key's travel, never forcing it.

Keep it level, away from direct sunlight, heaters and air-conditioning vents to protect the wood and the movement.

Always remove the pendulum and weights before moving a pendulum clock, even a short distance.
